TIM’s Tavern (TIM’s stands for Together In Music) is a cornerstone of White Center’s music and cultural scene, bringing neighbors and artists together every night.
Built on a simple belief — that live music brings people together — it has become a vital gathering place for artists, neighbors, and friends.
Since relocating from Greenwood, TIM’s has hosted hundreds of shows every year, from rising local acts to Seattle legends. Its intimate indoor stage and lively outdoor patio have become symbols of connection, creativity, and inclusion.
Now, all of that is under threat.
Outdated and unclear zoning codes are being interpreted in ways that could eliminate safe, outdoor performances — not just at Tim’s, but across King County. We’ve followed
every request in good faith — even moving most music indoors and investing heavily in compliance.
But we’re still being pressured — and at the center of this effort is a small, unelected group: The North Highline Unincorporated Area Council (NHUAC)
This group has positioned itself as the voice of White Center — despite holding no official authority, no election, and little real support from the community. They do not represent the diverse, creative, and inclusive neighborhood we know White Center to be.
The Save TIM’s Campaign is about more than defending one venue.
It’s about fixing outdated laws to protect live music, arts, and independent venues across King County — now and for the future.
We believe in:
🎶 The right to gather and enjoy live music responsibly
🎶 Clear zoning rules that support, not stifle, arts and culture
🎶 Protecting small businesses from being silenced by a vocal minority
This is about protecting the soul of White Center — and Seattle itself.
Join us — and help make sure the real voice of the community is heard.
This is bigger than TIM’s. This is about defending Seattle’s creative future.
Together in music — or not at all.
